Drone Hive adds two jobs to a fight: someone else doing damage, and someone else drawing fire. Both of those are very good.
Overview
The Drone Hive is a Cabin Stamp Club reward. Clear Sector 2 · Mass Production Array, go back to the Shelter, talk with Cabin to unlock the simulation training missions and the new stamp board, then hit the three-in-a-row — the Drone Hive drops out.
How it Works
- Fire mode — Deploys autonomous drones that orbit you and engage enemies.
- Range — Mid. The drones extend your effective engagement zone.
- OPEN interaction — Drones keep up chip damage and enemy attention while you manage the grid hack.
Strengths
- Consistent passive DPS that doesn't cost your input budget
- Distributes incoming fire across multiple targets
- Stacks with almost every other loadout combo
Weaknesses
- Drones have HP and can be destroyed
- Ramp-up time — you have to deploy before the fight gets nasty
- Dilutes burst damage; it's not the right tool vs. a single boss phase
When to use / pair with
- Best in: long encounters, boss phases with minions, hack-heavy runs where you'd rather not aim.
- Pair with: Grip Gun or Pulse Carbine to add the drone damage on top of a normal loadout.
Upgrade Notes
Drone HP > drone DPS. Dead drones do zero damage.
