Every loadout in Pragmata starts — and quietly continues — with the Grip Gun. It's the bullet-hose you'll still be firing into a boss's weak point on the last screen of the game.
Overview
You spawn with the Grip Gun in hand during the opening on the Cradle. It never runs out of ammo, it aims fast, and it exists to feed your hack combo — tagging enemies during OPEN State and finishing the weak points your tactical tools expose. Think of it as the "verb" the rest of your kit attaches adverbs to.

How it Works
- Fire mode — Semi-auto. Tap for controlled shots, lean into it during OPEN windows for a stream of chip damage.
- Range — Short to mid. The damage falls off hard past a certain point, so close the gap or swap to a secondary.
- OPEN interaction — Designed to ride on top of Diana's hacks. Whenever an enemy flashes into OPEN State, the Grip Gun is the default finisher.

Strengths
- Unlimited ammo — it's always available when a hack lands
- Quick target acquisition; works well while you're still grid-hacking
- Scales with upgrades, so it stays relevant into late-game loadouts
Weaknesses
- Low per-shot damage against armored bots
- Not the right tool to break weak points on its own — pair with a heavier attack weapon
- Range limits it vs. the ranged bots you'll meet from Sector 2 onwards
When to use / pair with
- Best in: every fight. Treat it as the default trigger; your secondary weapons are the situational answer.
- Pair with: Stasis Net to lock targets before unloading, or Charge Piercer when you need a burst-damage pivot.
Upgrade Notes
Invest in Grip Gun upgrades early — it's the one weapon you can guarantee you'll fire in every room for the whole run. Later-game combat builds lean on maxed damage, reload, and hack-synergy mods here.
