Overview
The Decoy Generator is in Sector 2 · Mass Production Array. After you've cleared 04 Business District, cross the bridge into the 05 Lim Recycling Facility. Hack the Lim recycler to wreck the barriers, then drop down — the Decoy Generator is waiting at the bottom.
How it Works
- Fire mode — Deploys a decoy that draws enemy aggro.
- Range — Mid. Arcs down like a grenade.
- OPEN interaction — While enemies are committed to the decoy, they don't interrupt your hacks.
Strengths
- Safest way to start a hack combo in a busy room
- Splits enemy fire for co-op with your own movement
- Doubles as a "breather" tool when you need to reload or heal
Weaknesses
- Doesn't deal damage
- Some elite enemies and bosses ignore decoys
- Limited charges — not spammable
When to use / pair with
- Best in: crowded fights where a hack is more valuable than burst DPS, and any room with a ranged bot picking at you from behind.
- Pair with: Photon Laser or Charge Piercer — the decoy eats the fire, you take the free shot.
Upgrade Notes
Charge count and decoy HP first. A decoy that pops instantly doesn't do its job.
